"Hollywood, I'm Sleeping Over Tonight" - Original soundtrack A selection of music chosen by Beatrice Ardisson, plus new material by Fabrice Viel Titled "J'irai dormir à Hollywood" in French, this is Atmosphériques' first original soundtrack, a veritable musical road trip echoing the journey made in the film by explorer/colourful character Antoine de Maximy. The film was produced by the company behind March of the Penguins, and is inspired by a well known series on French TV where Antoine travels and films his own adventures, spending the night with a person or a family somewhere in the world (over 30 countries covered so far) in order to experience a snapshot of their way of life and traditions. It's a format that Antoine invented himself, and yet not one of his sleepovers had taken place in the USA before the film was made. "From the very start I'd deliberately kept the United States aside for a big screen project," he says. Crossing the country on foot, by taxi, bus, bike and even in a hearse, his random encounters reveal what is both unique and universal about each individual. As for the music, the selection of quirky cover versions carefully chosen by Beatrice Ardisson to express the film's positive energy and contemporary outlook are counterpointed by the original music of Fabrice Viel, also behind the music for the original TV series. "Most of the tracks have a jazz, blues or rock feel," explains Fabrice. "Antoine has a very critical ear for music, and I had to adapt to his personality. The music gives the film its rhythm from start to finish."
